Mt. Hood & the Gorge :
Alternative Transportation
Congestion on our roads and on our trails is of huge concern in the Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Region. This has been a high priority issue in our region over the past few years. This is why car-free/alternative forms of transportation promotion was an investment for the region this biennium.
- Developed a new section of the website called Getting Around.
- Wrote content about car-free transportation options in the region
- Participated as a member of the Car Free Implementation Team (CFIT)
- Helped to fund new mapping tools that CFIT was working on to help visitors plan recreation trips to the region without the use of a personal vehicle.
This new content will help visitors more readily access options for how to travel through the region without a car
Transportation has always been a hop topic in the region. This work was the culmination of many agencies and interested parties working together to make progress in the right direction.
